Safety can be a touchy subject, but it's an important one. We can discuss safety issues here, and I'll be glad to make any appropriate revisions to the page.

The Tummy 2 Tummy DVD uses the term "Asian Back Carriers." The page has been edited to say Asian-style Baby Carriers. Can anyone shed more light on the origin of the term that is abbreviated ABC?

I agree with you Holly. I also think that you have to make a difference between the original types of Asian carriers, worn as they are in Asia, that is on women's back as they often take their baby with them to work in rice fields or sell products in marketplaces, and Asian-type carriers, which are adaptations of the original ones for our Western world which allows far more leisure for moms so they can wear their baby on the front.

I haven't found a way to carry my 7 month old that allows me to raise my arms above my head comfortably. It makes housework a strain on my shoulders. (Since I am short, I am always raising my arms over my head...) Any recommendations?

I use either a meitai with ds on my back, or a simple pareo (one-shoulder back carry), or a rucksack carry with a wrap. Tamatea is 15 months old and I can do any housework comfortably for about an hour or so...
